A New Academic Year in the Sandbox

With the second week of September already upon us, it is probably safe to assume that most students, both new and returning, are settling in for the new academic year ahead. Moving trucks, new classes, and countless opportunities all lend themselves to the exciting prospect of a new school year, and we love being a part of it. Nothing is quite as inspiring as seeing the exuberant faces of a group of students whom have just experienced a successful custom tour that immersed them within a breathtaking destination.
Although the classroom is by far one of the most effective and important places to learn, educating yourself extends well beyond it. There are experiences to be had outside of the conventional classroom that can help shape who we are, and who we will eventually become. Our minds are stimulated by the unknown, and, if we just step out a little, we may learn something extraordinary about ourselves, as well as the world around us.
Think of the classic sandbox as a microcosm of the unfamiliar. When we were much younger, and smaller, being placed in a sandbox for the first time was essentially sensory overload—blue skies above, open world before your eyes, and, at the time, what seemed like an endless amount of possibilities. Within that sandbox, the prospect of exploration beckoned for you, and your imagination could run wild. As we got older, the sandbox became smaller, and eventually it’s charm faded; many of us simply outgrew it. However, at World Cultural Tours, we never let go of the prospect of exploration—we just redefined the sandbox.
Whether you are traveling domestically or internationally, we view the world as a massive sandbox that is open for everyone to explore, and our goal is to help navigate you through. Many of us won’t be able to see it all within one lifetime, but that should never stop us from trying to experience as much as possible. There are so many cultures to learn from; so many people with incredible stories. Last year, we worked with over fifty groups, ranging from student performance ensembles to global learning groups, and brought them to destinations all over Europe, Asia, South America, and North America. Needless to say, we were thrilled to share in their stunning experiences.
Our lives are the sum of our experiences, and staying open-minded to this world, even through the tumultuous moments, can shape our perspective and define who we are as people. We take the extra time to create custom group tours that bring you to the destinations that you want to explore, and to the places you want to be heard. Our satisfaction stems from watching a group of students discover new places, while learning about themselves and the world around them. With so much out there to see and do, don’t forget to Experience the Difference!
